# Symaira

> Symaira is a local-first, open-source product family for human–AI collaboration. Products run on the user's machine, do not require a cloud service, and expose a Model Context Protocol (MCP) interface where applicable. Developed in Germany by Daniel Justus with a GDPR-first approach.

## Current source and distribution state

Browse, Operate and Scope completed their source/consumer cutover to optional Symaira Brain modules on 2026-09-13. The former `symaira-browse` repository is archived. Symaira Cockpit is the hardware/system-tuning product; its Operate and Scope source routes are retired. No signed Brain-module release or package-manager migration has been published yet.

Install current released products on macOS/Linux via Homebrew: `brew tap danieljustus/tap`, then `brew install symvault symbrain symdesk symcockpit symeraseme symfritz` and `brew install --cask symdesk-app`. The historical `symbrowse` formula is deprecated; use the Brain-managed source build for the cutover path.

Its optional Browse, Operate and Scope modules are independently selectable and managed from Brain sources.

It remains a direct CLI/MCP/daemon worker and does not require Brain memory at runtime.
